Howard R. (Mike) Greenawalt

Mike Greenawalt started working at Greenawalt & Company, P.C. in 1970 as an intern, becoming a full-time accountant upon his college graduation in 1974. He was an owner and officer in the firm from 1980 through 2011. As of January 1, 2012, Mike retired as an owner but continues as a part-time employee.

Mike is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Mike served two years on the PICPA Council, was a member of the PICPA Local Government Accounting and Auditing Committee for 12 years, was the chairman of the PICPA Committee on Professional Ethics for two years, and President of the South Central Chapter of the PICPA. He was also a Certified Business Manager (CBM), a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) and a Chartered Bank Auditor (CBA) prior to his retirement as an owner and officer of the firm.

Mike has been active in the community, currently serving as a member of the Mechanicsburg Area Foundation Advisory Board. He has previously been the Foundation Gifts Director of the Wildcat Foundation, Treasurer of the West Shore Branch of the Harrisburg Area YMCA, President of the Carlisle Rotary Club, Treasurer of the Carlisle Area Meals on Wheels and a member of various other community organizations.

Mike attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1974 with a BS degree in accounting.
